This recipe never says pink capers. It only defines the pepper colors and the use of CAPER JUICE! Do not rate if you don't read or try the recipe first.

I added some chopped capers as well: Also, I think when they say 'app' aren't they referring to an appetizer? That's what it means in the restaurant industry, at least.

A nice change up. I think there was a little too much pepper, especially since my eggs were large and not jumbo. I would maybe 1/2 the amount used or use jumbo eggs. With that said, there weren't any left so they were enjoyed.

The only reason the called it an "App" is because for some reason, Alton calls his recipes Applications...not recipes. Kinda odd but so is he :

for pete's sakes food network writers, please do not start referring to food as "apps" as in the headline, "Alton's peppery deviled eggs are an easy Easter app"

I made these last year for Easter, and plan to make them again this year. The 4 peppers give a really wonderful flavor. I found all the peppers at a gourmet grocery store (AJs in Arizona. They were a bit on the expensive side, but I still have a supply to use again, and you can always mix them in a pepper grinder too for a multi-colored pepper for everyday use. These eggs were so good I can't wait to have them again this weekend!

We make Deviled eggs just like this, for a added taste try 2 TBSP of Sweet pickle relish in the mix.. Gives the Eggs just a little bit of tang to them

I have searched a long time for a good deviled egg recipe and my search is over--these are just perfect! My friends now always request I bring these to cookouts, and my boyfriend requests them on a weekly basis. I don't have the various types of peppercorns, so I just use fresh ground black pepper, to taste. Delicious!!
