The sauce was too severe a reduction, and made the dish taste bitter, like burned coffee. Recipe look far more interesting than it turned out. Skip it.

Wow! Talk about too sweet. Less molasses please. The pork was perfectly moist though. The only Alton Brown recipe I didn't care for. Sorry Alton.

Didn't have enough molasses so substituted dark brown sugar for some of the molasses. Did these at a condo in Santa Fe (no BBQ grill used a grill pan instead. I agree about keeping the heat a little lower so sugar doesn't burn. Also, you don't need to drizzle too much of the reduced marinade over the chops as it is very intense.

Definately marinate overnight. It was a crowd pleaser and easy to make. Will be making it again very soon!

I made this recipe twice within a month : First, following the directions exactly with bone-in pork chops. Very yummy! Great flavor.

Second, I used the marinade recipe on sirloin tips. These also turned out extremely yummy - people were asking for the recipe! It is so easy, I recommend it to anyone. My boyfriend has problems with soy sauce in marinades (doesn't agree with him, so this is a great alternative!

First off don't cook these chops over med/high flame they will burn quickly b/c of the sugar content in the marinade and not be done. Indirect method should be the correct way. Finally after all that time marinating not much impact of flavor. The reduced marinade/glaze is NOT good and had weird flavors and bitter notes. The coffee in the marinade is the culprit, reducing the amount of coffee may help. I followed the recipe to the T too. Finally ordered a pizza for dinner!

Very tasty! I did modify the recipe as I had no molasses. Instead of molasses I substituted honey and brown sugar. I will make these again. My husband and son think this recipe is a keeper!

Anyone who gave this recipe a bad review must have done something wrong. These were absolutely wonderful. Very favorable and juicy. I followed the directions exactly and let the chops marinate for approximately 11 hours. My husband and I don’t drink coffee and was worried that they would taste too much like coffee. They didn't at all. I will definitely make these again.

I must say, I'm surprised by the poor ratings. I thought these were fantastic! The first word out of my husbands mouth was WOW! I had two other couples over and they loved them so much they ran out to get the ingredients the next day so they could make them. Whoever said these chops could give a steak a run for it's money was right! Maybe it's the molasses? I used mild molasses. Maybe those that thought it was bitter or strong used a heavier variety? I don't know, but I would highly, highly recommend this recipe!

We didn't like the combination of coffee and molasses, a bit strong..the only thing we did like was that they came out tender..Won't make it again
