I followed Instruction to the letter but I wound up with an epic fail. The batter spilled out the bottom and burned. I am glad it worked for some but I am still at a loss as to what happened with mine. One of my concerns is that when I looked at a different recipe it called for 3/4 cup of sugar rather than 1 3/4 cups. I am going to try that one and see how it goes.

This flopped for me! Why? This is the first angel food cake that I've made that didn't turn out. It looked nicely browned and the toothpick came out clean. When I turned it over it released from the tube pan. It fell onto itself. It is so dense. I was hoping for success ,but none here. I wonder what caused this problem? Very strange, and I doubt if I try this one again.

This was probably the best angel food cake we had ever had! But, you do have to follow the instructions perfectly and have a mixer. Your cake will not turn out if you don't achieve the peaks and it will be gritty if you don't sift everything. A little labor intensive for a cake that only has a handful of ingredients, but well worth it!

I made this as cupcakes using lemon extract instead of vanilla. Then filled them with Maine blueberry compote and topped with buttercream frosting (light blue for a baby boy shower and topped with fresh blueberries for garnish.

i wish there was something below 1 star because this is god aweful.i made it for my BFs b-day and anything that could go bad did.i went to the store to buy cake flour because i wanted everything to be perfect like the recipe so that my BF would be pleased with my cooking skills(i now have 2 go 2 the store 2 buy him a proper cakeso we spent 10 mins.beating it and the peaks didnt even happen,it was more of a foamy hot mess,we then decided to bake it anyways in hopes it would taste good but then when flipping it over to cool after MANY times of checking to see if the skewer came out clean, and the ENTIRE uncooked cake came out onto the counter top!it was like a scrambled egg gone crazy.so we put it back in the oven and 10mins later it tasted disgusting like a wet paper towel..my heart is crushed.i wanted to make his favorit cake 4 him and i cant give him this terrible thing.this cake gives angels a bad name!i would next time buy the betty crocker angel food cake that only requires water
