Finally! A way to cook brown rice without burning it or having it turn out soggy. Thanks, Alton!

When I first saw Alton make this on tv it looked fantastic, especially the idea of baking rice in the oven. While I love the acidity of good vinegar, it just seemed that 1/2 cup would be too ambitious for my tastes, so instead I used 3 tablespoons of good balsamic vinegar and topped it off with Marsala wine to make the 1/2 cup of liquid. I omitted the sugar, figuring the sweetness of the wine will balance everything...and it did. Absolutely wonderful, hot or cold.

The rice came out absolutely perfect and was very delicious. I had energy for hours after eating it and it kept me full. Brown rice is good for you!

This is the best brown rice I have ever tasted!! I don't make it any other way now. It really has a lot of flavor and is so simple. It is worth waiting the hour for, and it makes plenty!! Thanks Alton.

This rice was perfect. After having much trouble with stovetop rice, the oven method was a welcome change. The rice had just the right texture.

I used Chx. Stock as many other reviewers suggessted and I think is was wonderful! It was perfectly cooked-even better than brown rice you get in restruants (even the pros have a hard time with brown rice!! I used this as a side dish to baked fish and it was lovely- my 17 mo. old loved it too!
