    I will never boil rice on the stove again (as long as time permits. This rice was not sticky, not over cooked, not hard, and definitely not bland. My family loved it.

    to poodly56: It must be your oven temp or you did something wrong. I've made this many times, and it's perfect each time. Check that your oven's temp is as set - I'd bet it's off. Good luck next time. It's worth getting it right. Method works every time, great tasting rice, inexpensive and you can freeze the cooked rice. Just defrost, poke plastic bag with a couple of holes and plunge into boiling water for 30 sec.

    So disappointed! Followed the directions to the letter however rice was only about 3/4 of the way cooked, still slightly crunchy. :-(

    No one in my house liked brown rice, now I get begged to make it. Thank you Alton this is the most flavorful rice period. You can use it as a base for any cultural voyage your taste buds want to take. makes incredible fried rice, spanish rice and is great just plain. a bonus is the wonderful nutty aroma that baking the rice creates. And it's EASY!

    WOW! I am so impressed with this recipe. I made brown rice on the stovetop the other night and nobody ate it besides me. I tried this recipe tonight and my little boys wanted seconds! I am so thrilled...how easy, cheap and healthy! I put some fresh thyme before serving and it was just delish. I think next time, I will just add a few sprigs of thyme before putting it in the oven. Thanks Alton, what a great recipe!

    Alton never disappoints! This method is so much easier than having to stand over a pot and constantly stir it to make sure the rice doesn't stick to the bottom. Stick it in the oven and forget about it.

    Great rice recipe. I was about to give up on rice but I can always count Alton to give food new life. I did add one more table spoon of butter when the rice was finished and stirred it in.

    OMG absolutely the best. So easy. I'm a lazy cook but I popped everything (without heating liquid first in a oven proof dish, covered with foil, mixed half water half chicken stock and baked 1 hr 15 min. Have already made twice and is perfect every time.
