I have now made this 2 times for family gatherings and each time I'm asked for the recipe! I used a pound of cheese instead of 12oz. I use 12 oz of sharp cheddar and then 4 oz of pepperjack. I also fried up bacon so they were like bacon bits and folded it in. AMAZING! I bought texas toast croutons and put them in a ziplock crush them up, toss them with melted butter and lay it on the top. It is not a calorie friendly meal one serving is 550 calories but it is DELICIOUS! Make sure you do bake it for 30 minutes so the milk and cheese have time to blend together well!

This was the fist time I tried this Mac and Cheese and the sauce was very tasty but after baking it was very dry. Can anyone offer advise on how to keep it a bit creamy? I have to say the onions really gave it a great taste. I give it a 3 star before baking time.

This mac and cheese is delicious! I read some of the reviews before I made this for Thanksgiving, and I used 1/4 cup of onion instead of 1/2 cup and extra sharp cheddar cheese instead of sharp cheddar cheese. I'm glad I used less onion because I can see how it would be too strong, but 1/4 cup was perfect because it was so tasty and everyone loved it! The bread crumbs also turned a gorgeous golden brown in the oven... yum!

I think this is a "grown up" mac and cheese. I made the mac and cheese for my kids and it didn't go over very well. My son will usually ask for seconds and he didn't even eat half of this mac and cheese. The onion is too strong of a taste for kids.

Wonderful recipe: Im a teen and madee two batches of it. Both batches were accurate and consistent and the second batches i actually had to improvise ingredients. I didnt have any problems with it. I simply added extra spices and cheese for extra tastes. I would recommend to others definitely. Thanks

Made this for Thanksgiving. Everyone said it was good but that it wasn't very cheesy. I used onion powder instead of actual chopped onion. It was a little separated after I baked it but it wasn't a big deal to me because the casserole dish was empty and everyone was happy :

This was nothing like what I expected mac and cheese to taste like and no one really liked it. Sorry. I wanted it to taste like the stuff you buy at barbeque restaurants, but it didn't. I made it for the first time for Thanksgiving and won't be making it again. I think the onions messed up the dish.
