The blueberry syrup was easy to make and very delicious. We did not need to alter the recipe in any way and it turned out wonderful. Do be careful handling the cheesecloth when squeezing the juice from the fruit. It will be very hot at first.

Adding the syrup to one brand of carbonated water was an acquired taste for us and not something that we preferred. In the future, we might mix it with a different brand of carbonated water or simply add more syrup to the blueberry-soda mixture. More successful was adding the blueberry syrup to the tea that we brewed.

We are looking forward to using this recipe with other berries to make different syrups.

Very good. My husband and I actually prefer a little pulp in it, and we add it to coconut La Croix.

This recipe is fantastic. Fruity, refreshing, with just the right amount of sweetness. The best part is that it's really flexible. I've made it with blueberries and raspberries, and I bet you could use lots of other types of fruit. You can also do much more than soda. I've used the raspberry syrup to make homemade raspberry iced tea (brewed with loose-leaf tea, on blueberry pancakes, and on an ice cream sundae (after all, raspberry and chocolate are great together. I actually like it better for these things than maple syrup or chocolate sauce. YUM.

I made this quite a while back for a school project about the state of Maine. It was PERFECT! Everyone in my class loved it and I got like a 94 on the project, but perfect marks on the food part. The only way i altered it was to decrease the amount of club soda to make it sweeter.

I made this twice. The first time was a mixture of blackberries and blueberries. The second time was just blueberries. We really liked it a lot. Although I haven't tried it, it definitely seems like it can be used with any berries you have handy.

I ordinarily like the flavor of blueberries, but something about the blueberries in combination with carbonated water was unappealing. That said, I tried this recipe with strawberries, and it turned out better.

I love this recipe. When I'm sick there is nothing else that makes me feel better. Our kids are pretty young and we have never let them have soda. Now they can without paying a fortune for "natural soda".

I use about 1/2 cup of dark wildflower honey instead of sugar, and this last batch I used a small amount of raspberries as well as blueberries (1:5. The raspberry zing was a nice touch.

I've tried this with cranberries (although there is more pectin in cranberries, so I had to alter the recipe slightly and it worked beautifully. I have also tried other berries, all are great. I use it for 'soda' as well as syrup for pancakes and waffles. Thanks Alton!

This is a great recipe. It works with everything from dewberries to watermelon to grapes. Not to mention you know exactly what goes in the soda, which is more then you can say even for gormet sodas.Plus the blueberry syrup is great on pancakes.
