I just made this for a family get together and it was even better than I'd hoped. I saw Alton make this a couple of nights ago, and thought it would be a nice change from casseroles with cream of "something" soup in them. I was a little worried about the ramen noodles, but shouldn't have been. Everyone, even the kids loved it. (Some of the kids picked around the mushrooms though.
I did make a couple of minor substitutions. I happened to have creamy chicken flavor ramen, so I used it, and I did use baby portabella mushrooms because I just really like the meaty texture. Other than that I followed the recipe exactly. I doubled it and make it in a larger dish, approx 9x13, added 15 min to the covered baking time, and then added a little to the uncovered time also. I plan to take this delicious casserole to our next chuch pot luck dinner. Do not hesitate to make this. It is worth the little bit of extra work!

I absolutely love this recipe. Whenever I see broccoli on sale I buy it just to make this casserole.

My family loved this, and all had second helpings. I skipped the ramen noodles, packet, and yogurt. I used seasoned salt, and garlic powder to season it instead. Delicious!!!

I love this casserol. My daughter hates to eat veggies but she gobbles this one up. I dont add the mushrooms, instead I add chopped leftover turkey from our holiday dinner. It becomes a one dish meal. Congrats Alton you have out done yourself on this on.

Broccoli casserole had gotten really boring for me. This one is great. The blanched, fresh broccoli is so much better than frozen chopped which tends to lose texture and tastes over cooked when baked in a casserole. The ramen noodles added a pleasant texture .

I think AB's use of ramen noodles is so creative! I'm always looking for new and creative ways to use everyday items in recipes. (I especially loved this episode of Good Eats!

Love the fact that it doesn't use cream of mushroom soup. I omitted the salt and let the soup flavor pack do the work for me. I have also used lower fat dressing, mayo and yogurt without the recipe coming out different. I always use fresh broccoli and blanch it. I enjoy adding other veggies such as fresh carrots and frozen peas. I have also added left over chicken breast. This is a great dish that can be put together the night before and baked the next day.

I made this on a whim and boy am I glad that I did. This is light years better than any standard soup-based casserole. In fact, I intend to make this a new holiday staple. The flavor and texture combinations here are unexpected and excellent. Its tangy and rich. The inclusion of the ramen and seasoning is brilliant. Kudos to AB on this wonderful concoction!

This recepie is really tasty and it is also easy to make. The only thing I have done to this is a added cut up chicken breast to give it that little extra something. With the Chicken I would easily give is a 5/5!
