I thought this tasted wonderful! Definitely a recipe I will use over and over. I had an abundance of Granny Smith apples and was ISO of recipes that I could make to help use them up! Thank you!

I thought they were delicious. My husband didn't care for the apples, but I liked them. This was a trial run in preparation for Christmas prime rib (we will be using Alton Brown's recipe for the prime rib as well. I liked cooking the sprouts first, I did quarter them instead of just cutting them in half. And it is true- the fats in the dish negate the bitter flavor that the sprouts have. Over all, it was great, then again Alton has never let me down before. I only give it 4 stars because the hubby didn't like the apple chunks.

Never had brussels sprouts growing up as a kid, guess my parents didn't enjoy them. So I was brave and had them for the first time in my life using this recipe. Loved them! Will be making these over and over and over again! Thanks AB for another winner.

Eww! Do NOT EVER BOIL. Brussels sprouts!!! EVER! *gag*

Cut in half and and sear cut side down in the bacon grease after cooking the onion. Proceed with the rest of the recipe.

Uggh. Still shuddering. Boiling Brussels sprouts. Who in the world ?!? *grumblemutter*

I have used FN recipes for years & this is the first I've taken the time to rate a recipe. It is awesome! In my daughter's BF's words: those brussel sprouts were like one of the most fantastic things my mouth has ever tasted :

I made this for Thanksgiving, as our family likes Brussels sprouts. It was so good, my family members want to make it at home as well.
