    Good smoothie except for the soy milk. I would use a nut or seed milk. Almond, sesame, etc.
    Soy is not so good for people.

    the recipe is good (i like vanilla soy milk personally, or almond but i just wanted to address the comment about the negative health benefits of soy (although i do intend to try some yogurt in my smoothie anyway, because i like yogurt and think it will taste good in here, and it adds the probiotic benefit, if there's any truth to that, but it has nothing to do with the soy.

    the studies that show a negative benefit to a high-soy diet, typically look at *denatured* soy, like you find in meat replacement products like "veggie" burgers (TVP or TSP or in powdered soy. Studies that have looked into low-processed soy products like soy milk or tofu (or tempeh generally find overwhelmingly positive results. it's just that the outlets that report on this don't always clearly distinguish that, and you get a headline like "soy is bad for you" but soy and "textured soy protein" aren't necessarily the same thing when it comes to how your body handles them.

    bottom line: soy milk is good for you.

    This is the second recipe I've reviewed from this episode and, unlike the other one, I love it! (Probably because it doesn't have sardines in it, a sardine smoothie... no.

    I used fat free greek style yogurt rather than soy, since I don't like soy and don't have any lactose problems, and keeping yogurt around doesn't make me crave cookies :

    Anyway, this is an excellent recipe! I encourage everyone to try it and to experiment with various fruits!

    I use plain yogurt instead of soy, because it helps the thickness, plus, if you read Men's Health, or some of the other places it has been published, soy may have some detrimental effects that make it not worth it.

    As for nutrition, unless you are using fresh berries, everything except the banana is labeled, and I bet it is not hard to figure out the nutrients for that.

    I found a cups to weight by ingredient website and realized I had the measurements all wrong. Thought it may help some others.

    4 oz Blueberries = 1 c.
    4 oz Peaches = 1/2 c.
    4 oz Strawberries (halved/sliced = 4/7 c.

    For you folks that find the full 24 oz of this smoothie doesn't last till lunch I would like to suggest a couple things. First don't switch to moo milk instead of soy milk. Soy has more protein and other "good stuff" over moo milk. Worse than that is switching out to low fat milk, fat is energy to burn. If you are using Soy milk and still burn through 24 oz to soon, beef things up with protein powder, that's what I do. You could toss in a egg (yes raw instead of the powder. With all the acid in there from the berries I don't worry much about catching any thing from the eggs. Salute!

    Like most of his recipes, this works really well if you look at it as a formula instead of just a single recipe. With this in mind, I've used it for a wide variety of smoothie variations and have enjoyed all of them.

    I've never made it with soy milk (I'm not a fan but have tried it with milk and then with kefir (sort of like thin yoghurt.

    My only problem is I tend not to find it very filling. I love it and enjoy them but they feel more like a snack than something I can have for breakfast. I end up needing to pair it with an egg to last me through the morning.
