I work so early in the morning with special ed kids (by 6:30 I'm on the bus picking them up to take them to high school that breakfast just doesn't work much for me unless it is pre-packaged! YUCK! I've had a LOT of health issues this school year and I've dragged with my tail down all winter. I've been looking for a really good smoothie recipe to take along on the bus to boost my metabolism and help me lose unwanted pounds. THIS IS IT! Thank you, Alton!
Also, since I volunteer and go to church on Sunday's so early (music practice at 7:30 am!, this is also going along with me on Sundays. And while everyone else at Grace Methodist is having the usual donut, I'm gonna be sucking down something far more yummy! LOL So full of everything I need to get going in a much healthier way!

I want to thank Alton for his wonderful display in applying his ability to break nutritional values down so that you can understand how to go about eating the right foods and combinations. Also I must say he looks great! I always enjoy his shows, but Episode: Live and Let Eat was excellent. I knowhe must have received some heat from the dairy associaton for expressing that he does not consume milk and preferrs soy milk. I respect that he did it anyway. All you have to do is look at Alton, he looks great! What he is doing works and I am so impressed. He has a quick wit and the knowledge to back up what he says. I really enjoy Good Eats and now I respect Alton even more! Thank you for telling it like it is!

Just want to say Thank You for inspiring me to work towards a healthier diet. I started by making my first Smoothie and have gone on from there. I do, however, substitute steamed sweet potato for the banana since I don't care for banana. The sweet potato adds a lot of flavor and fiber. I also add a tablespoon or two of ground flax seed. The flax is great for your body and helps keep the leftovers nice and thick. Let me know when your Healthy Cook Book is coming out as I'm looking forward to it.

Made this recipe to test it out before committing to an everyday breakfast... this thing is SO filling I could not have the whole thing, put about a third in the freezer to enjoy later. Followed recipe as instructed, used Pom juice and frozen mango chunks in place of the peaches (not a fan of peaches This is a great smoothie!!! look forward to replacing my cereal int he mornings!

I made this last night to have for breakfast. I had to buy a blender to make it, so I was hoping it would work out. It definitely did! I drank it at 6 before work and made it all the way past noon without feeling hungry. I put kiwi in mine, it was really awesome. Highly recommend.

I made this smoothie this morning and it was fantastic. Many are right that you have to drink it slow. Only had banana and blueberries and it still was great. I also used skim milk. Only think I've noticed was the blender..I used the ninja pro and handled everything in four or five spins without any problem and did not have to place in frig night before. Will have this every morning from now on!

I was influenced by a sale and coupon offer from my local Publix store to purchase Silk brand almond milk in lieu of soy. I hope Alton will endorse the substitution as the result is, most likely, equally delicious.
I also hope Alton is authoring a new 'Buff Brown' cookbook. Please put me on the list for six advance copies!

Needed a change of pace for my breakfast routine. Trying to cut out bread/cereals/starches. Prepped this the night before, as suggested (and b/c I don't like to get up and earlier than necessary!. Used 1 tbsp non-fat plain greek yogurt, 1 oz Mona-Vie Acai blend, 2 oz Cran-Pom juice, handful frozen strawberries, 2 handfuls frozen blueberries, 1 frozen mini banana, 1 cup light vanilla Silk (soymilk. This morning, blended for 1 minute...DELISH!!!!!! Kept me satiated too!!!!!!! (I'm normally starving by 1030am when I eat my usual egg whites, or cereal.
