This is the best burger I've ever had. I was a little worried it'd be tough and chewy an dry. Not at all. Don't be tempted to season it up, the little bit of kosher salt is all it needs.

As a bodybuilder on a low carb diet, I mostly eat red meat and this is the perfect recipe for me. I changed the method a little to economize such as using preground meat from the store and utilizing a cast iron griddle on a barbecue instead of the stovetop for easy cleanup, even in winter months. I usually cook 10 pounds at a time with multiple paddies on the griddle and I have 32 patties to last me the next few days. The only drawback is when it is windy or 20 degrees outside and the barbecue you use will be get beat. A lot of flames will occur from the BBQ if not careful.

I was skeptical about no seasonings except salt, I was not thrilled at the idea of cleaning the food processor, I got strange looks from the butcher counter, I was not sure about serving it for the first time to my in-laws who are picky...but it was AMAZING!!!!!
I can not believe how tender, juicy, perfect this burger is. It's a must. I'll never go back. Thank you Alton!!

I don't eat much red meat anymore but if I'm going to have a burger, this is the only way to go. I used a grinder instead of food processor. It's simply the best. Thanks AB

This is a new tradition in my family. From the youngest kids to adults, everyone raves about the taste. People will actually ask you what seasonings you used to make it so delicious! Do not bend to temptation and add onion soup mix or sauce or seasoned salt....trust Alton on this one!

I think the title says it all. It's easy to make, and tastes great.

A very simple recipe. You'll probably have to buy a little extra chuck and sirloin since they're sold by the piece and not per pound. I ground the meat a little bit extra. My girlfriend loved it.
