Absolutely exceptional, and as the man said, "roasting" the peaches, is the key!Way better than my chocolate/marsh mellow/banana recipe, and that's saying something!Used our own peaches also!! Thanks.

The first time I made this, I knew something was very wrong... It tasted terrible and chemical-ly. I discovered the problem when I tasted the preserves I used... they were disgusting. The second time, though, I didn't make the same mistake - I used home made preserves given to me by my dear friend. The result: spectacular! I left out the whipping cream and used heavy cream instead, but otherwise followed the recipe to a T. It tastes like home made peach cobbler and the only thing that could make it better is if you crumble shortbread on top!!

this was so easy and delicious! I had some Peach Schnapps on hand and decided to kick it up a notch and added a "glug" of that to the cream mixture when I was cooking that. I chopped the peaches then tossed them in the freezer. When I was ready to add them according to the recipe, I chopped them again. Don't understand the other comments. I had great peach flavor and did not have a clumping issue. My husband wants to know when I'm going to make it again. Perhaps it's the Peach Schnapps, hhhmmmm?????

I didn't particularly care for this recipe. The peach taste was faint, not fresh. The ice cream feels oily to the taste after the first bite or two. I guess my search for the perfect peach ice cream will continue next year when my peach tree provides its next crop.

a wonderful recipe. the flavor was a bit mild (could have been that I used less flavorful peaches. Was very good w/ caramel sauce, banana ice cream (see Alton's other ice cream recipe, and cashews.

I used all cream instead of half and half because I forgot about it at the supermarket. It is so rich and creamy and the flavors of peach and vanilla combine perfectly. It helps to add the peaches a little more slowly than I did because mine are clumped together instead of spread out uniformly.
It's a little labor intensive, but completely worth it.
