I did not know much about making Chicken Fried Steak before, but his receipes are so complete and well written that I had no trouble following it. This dish, as well as all of the dishes from that episode, I crave and we cycle through them every month or so. Thanks Alton!

Looking for a new way to use "economical" cuts of meat, I came across this recipe on FN and made it for a weeknight dinner. My two boys (hubby and 7 yr. old LOVED it! And my son is a pretty picky eater.
I used a cast-iron skillet and followed directions precisely. It turned out perfectly! Only complaint was the clean-up, but I used disposable aluminum pie tins for the "coating stations" and tossed them when done.
Way to go Alton!

We watched this on his show and tried it the next night. It is the best Chicken Fried Steak I have tasted. I have even got my parents hooked on it. Very easy make.

This recipe is very simple and easy to make. I personally just buy the cubed steak, it's easier for me. I had to cut back a little on the salt, it was too much the first time I made it. Aside from that, very good! My roommates just loved it! =

I made this recipe for the third time tonight and it was as good if not better than the first time. I did not let the breading rest for the ten minutes as suggested and I had to use dried thyme. I really like Alton's recipes in general and this is one of my favorites.

This recipe was easy to make if you take a shortcut and use cubed beef steaks. The tenderizing is already done for you. The steaks were crunchy and very tasty, and made even better leftovers for lunch. We will be making this again!
