    I hardly ever stick to a recipe, but I did on this and it was superb! My family always complains that I don't use bacon. They didn't even miss it in the gravy. I make good gravy, but this is absolutely the best ever!! Alton rocks!

    Being a southern boy, I have to say this is the closest any recipe has come yet to grandmas recipe. It just needs to be made with the right meat(see deer.

    My boyfriend always wants me to fry stuff and I am always intimidated by frying recipes. I thought AB's looked simple enough and he's never steered me wrong before. We used cubed steak and skipped the tenderizing. It was amazing! The steak was so tender and the gravy was fabulous and easy. This is definately a keeper! Thanks Alton!

    The chicken fried steak was okay, the gravy is what disappointed me. I expected a lot more from Mr. Brown.
