this is the best soup recipe for those cold days when you just want to curl up and watch a movie. The BEST!

Give it a chance people. I hate when people drop negetive reviews here without even trying the recipe. If you can't contribute a real genuine rating then go back to watching Emeril. Bam!
This is simply a great chicken soup with the fruits of your labors from making a delicious stock at home becoming the highlight. I have made it to the exact recipe as Alton has but I have also made it with the Chicken stock I made from my Les Halles cookbook. Both are great. The stock IS the chicken in this recipe.

Follow Alton's recipe for making homemade stock, then use his recipe for this great soup. The bit of fresh lemon juice brightens the already perfect chicken flavor of the homemade stock. You can add your own chicken meat if you like, but this soup is fantastic just as it is.

Using homemade chicken broth makes a major difference in the quality of the soup. This recipe says use homemade or store bought, as if they are the same. Not worthwhile.

Come on people, you need to make and TASTE the recipe before you rate it!
Also, there IS chicken in this recipe. The recipe calls for chicken STOCK not broth. And if made your own stock, with Alton's recipe of course, and then used it to make this recipe you WOULD be pleased.
