I did the Tuna as described using fresh Sushi tuna and the powdered wasabi and we loved it.

I tried the same marinade for plank grilled Salmon and that was also a 5 star meal. I cooked the salmon until done, nice and flaky.

so good I am doing tonight for my Son, daughter in law, second son and his very special girlfriend. I love dipping sauces yet when these are cooked I don't use nearly as much as I normally would.

    Tried this and love it!
I slice the tuna and make seared tuna tacos!
sliced some Jicama, lettuce, sour cream, hot sauce and avocado slices.
Family favorite now, reminds us of the caribbean.

    thanks Alton!

I could not find tuna loin, so I used a regular ahi tuna steak. It came out good, but the sesame seeds totally burnt.

I cut the wasabi because I thought it would be too hot. But I think the 1/4 cup would be just right.

I served this with brown rice.

I made this with tuna steaks and substituted creamy horseradish for the wasabi since I didn't have any on hand. Tasted great, the horseradish had the same kick as wasabi. I used my indoor grill and they turned out fantastic and so so fast! Did a little mixed veggie saute on the side, a perfect healthy meal. Thanks AB! Loved the show too, very informative and entertaining!

This method of making the traditional seared ahi (sorry, tuna is by far the best I have ever made or had anywhere in the Pacific. I seared my ahi on my stove top and used wasabi paste instead of powder and it still turned out to be da best ever! I have had the wasabi shoyu mixture, but adding the honey took it to a new level! Mahalo Alton!

This recipe was very easy and it tasted great on a gas grill. I might try to toast the sesame seeds next time.

So simple and so perfect. I use a combination of black and white sesame seeds, and if it's cold outside I sear the tuna on the stovetop.

This recipe sounded great, but turned out extremely bland. The tuna needed so much more flavor and the marinade was not particularly good.
