Although OK, I wasn't blown away. Just and average way to make the great sweet potato.

I made these for a big family dinner, and the responses were varied depending on whether or not people could handle spicy food. I personally loved the heat and would make them as is again just for myself. When serving to a group I will leave out the peppers or just use one and add the adobe sauce for smoky flavor without overwhelming more delicate taste buds.

I usually whip my sweet potatoes with milk and butter. They are divine and what I look forward to during Thanksgiving. I thought I would make a little change this year since I whip every root vegetable the same way.
I used two of the peppers and 2 tsps. of the canned sauce. It was spicy just like my husband and I like most food. Unfortunately, my husband grabbed the tupperware of excess canned bland, pumpkin, and served that up by accident while I was making gravy. So no one got to taste the potatoes. There is a nice smokey flavor to this recipe, but I feel it needs something more. I think bacon would compliment the flavors nicely, but it might overdo the smokiness. Perhaps a nice apple spiced bacon would do. This is a simple, fairly healthy, and very tasty recipe. I just feel it would be dynamite if it had added complex flavors.

I don't really care for sweet potatoes, I do love this recipe though!! I put the whole can of chipotle peppers and adobo sauce in. But I'm also the kind of person that puts a dollop of sriracha or a dash of hot sauce on almost everything I eat. If you follow the recipe to a T, it has a slight smokiness to it and not much heat. Just keep adding chilies until you find your happy medium.

These sweet potatoes are now a must-have on our Thanksgiving table. I love this recipe, and make only one tweak when I prepare. I make it with white sweet potatoes instead of orange. I think it's an even better flavor. Enjoy (and remember, one chipotle pepper, not one can of peppers!

Everything about this dish is wonderful. We make them all year round. You can make them as mild or hot as needed. The family can't get enough!

We tried this recipe as we love sweet potatoes and also love spicy food. Well, the ONE chipotle pepper and tsp of sauce added very little flavor, and what flavor it did add wasn't especially good. We didn't think it was hot or even the least bit spicy, and the flavor of chipotle peppers is a bit odd. I would pass on this one.

Really liked this recipe. I tossed the one pepper in a small food processor with about 1 tbsp of the sauce. A quick spin and it went right into the potato mixture. I will definitely make this again!
