I am no stranger to baking. These were fairly easy to make. I followed the recipe exactly as directed. The cookies basically did not hold thier shape once cooked. The two doughs were very different in consistency and would not stick together. The chocolate dough was very dry. On top of all of this the cookies tasted awful, basically no flavor. I was making these to hand out to neighbors but I wound up throwing them all away. Not worth the time or effort.

These cookies were easy and fun to make. They turned out very pretty and were very tasty.I will be making these in large batches and give them away as gifts. Keep any eye on them while in the oven, I thought they cooked quicker than recipe said and make sure to rotate like the recipe says so the edges don't burn.Merry Christmas!

The cookie is very good, but it easily fell apart then taking off the cookie sheet. Only four cookies stayed together from the whole batch.

This is a tasty recipe that is fun to make with your kids with lots of rolling and twirling together.

I tried these this year. They're good, but in my opinion, they're a lot of work for what you get. I may stick with my family's traditional recipes for the holidays.

A bit of work and time to make these cookies but worth it at the end. Even mint-haters enjoyed this cookie. I used multi-striped candy canes but the colors were sort of dulled by the dough. Not as pretty as I would have liked bit oh, so good. A very sturdy cookie with flavor.

We tweeked the recipe using a 32 oz. premade sugar cookie log, Baker's Unsweetened Chocolate and Andes'Peppermint Crunch Baking Chips. I can't imagine adding any peppermint extract as it would have been to pepperminty for our tastes. It's tricky to get one pancake on top of the other but I rolled out the chocolate on a cutting board, put plastic wrap over it, turned it upside down over the peppermint pancake and it came out fine. This'll be our favorite cookie until we get tire of 'em. And definitely chill the log for at least the 2 hours. I'll have to try the wire cutting technique mentioned. Using a knife did smash them down.

Quite a bit of work, but they look so good and taste great too. Take them off the cookie sheet within a minute of taking them out of the oven or they are very hard to get off the baking sheet and break! Also, I added red sugar on top for Christmas-looked great!

I could not have been more happy with this recipe. They turned out beautiful, flavorful, and festive. No complaints from the family either!

These cookies looked and sounded great on the show, but once I made them I was very disappointed. The chocolate part of the cookie has a bittersweet taste and the peppermint part is very bland. The flavors (or lack thereof make a poor taste combination. They do make a very pretty addition to the looks of your holiday treat plate, but once people taste them they will not be asking for more. These cookies are definitely not worth the work required to make them.
