Whenever anyone thinks of Thanksgiving, we traditionally think of turkeys and pumpkin pies. In my family, we all think of Alton Brown's City Ham. Amazing!

I've been making this ham for the past 3 years now!!!! It's my family's favorite recipe. They especially love the special baked crust that the ginger snap creates. We love this recipe so much that I was requested to make ham and ham only. No turkey this thanksgiving and we are okay with that!!! Highly recommend this recipe. Thanks for a great recipe Alton!!!!!

I started making this ham about 5 years ago. To this day it's the BEST ham we have ever eaten. Who would have thought mustard, cookies and jack daniels go together so well with ham. The kids started calling it "Ham and Ham sauce" . I never thought we would ever ask the turkey to move over........Alton Brown --thanks for sharing your family recipes. LOVE THEM!

I made a test ham last night a little pre-game warmup. And seriously amazing I love city hams and this just brings it to whole other level. The flavors on the glaze are so complex it the mustard really makes it wonderful by cutting the traditionally all be it too sweet glaze. The only thing I can say is dont go too crazy with the mustard it could draw too much attention to itself. Other than that WOW what a winner.

This first time I made this ham for a family thanksgiving dinner, I was informed by my extended family that this is what I am to bring as our new traditional dish from now on. This ham is amazing.

This ham recipe has replaced turkey for any family & friends holiday get-together I'm responsible for. It is absolutely fantastic. Alton Brown makes the world a better place to eat.

My family usually purchases their hams from " The Honey Baked Ham Compnay" but, to save some money with these tough times we decided to try to prepare our own. I cannot express how juicy, moist and flavorful it was. The combination of the brown sugar, gingersnaps, bourbon and mustard gave it an amazing complexity that was just incredible. There was not a bit of ham left by the end of the evening !!!!! I do however recommend that you USE GOOD QUALITY GINGERSNAPS. Lower quality gingersnaps seemed to have too much flour and result in a cakey coating rather than a crisp one (my sister learned this one on her own the hard way
