Brilliant! I've used this recipe twice and now my friends think I'm a ham genius. Ham-tastic!

After seeing this episode I made 2 hams for Easter, one with the ginger snaps and one without. Needless to say, the one with ginger snaps was a hit. Its my turn again for Easter and I came on here hoping the recipe would still be here. I'm so excited to have found it and I'm sure my family will be too. THANK YOU ALTON!!

Tha'ts my family's opinion. This is the best ham and well worth the effort, my family wouldn't have their ham any other way. Thanks Alton.

My 8 year old and I decided to try this recipe out.
We had a great time making and eating this.
Our extended family really loved it.

I saw the show featuring this ham and thought I would try it over New Year's, since I was going to have a house full. This is the best ham recipe I have ever had. The sweetness of the brown sugar and ginger snap cookies with the saltiness of the ham was absolutely fantastic. I will make this ham over and over again. It is easy, even though it does take a long time in the oven. But it is worth every minute. People were asking for this recipe, even though I was hesitant to share... I printed out a few for those who wanted to impress people at their next dinner party.

I recorded the Ham I Am episode and have watched it no less than four times during the preparation of my city ham. The ham turned out FANTASTICALLY. As a result, I have pushed turkey to the wayside for a while for all holiday dinners. This turned out so much better than I had hoped (I did find myself "pigging out" on the crust more than the ham internals, but both were fantastic. It was fun having the video recorded so I could follow right along. One thing I would have liked to have known is some other uses of the Bourbon in the sprits bottle. Mr. Brown commented that he always keeps this item on-hand. Why? I ended up using cooking sherry since I didn't have bourbon available, and it turned out pretty darn good. I will try it the RIGHT way, next time. Thank your grandmother for me, Alton (plaid boxers are overrated anyway.
