Awesome! Everyone loved it - even the person who is not a ham lover. He even asked for a doggy bag.

I tried this ham recipe today for Easter and it was amazing. It was juicy and tender. I was surprised that the mustard flavor didnt come through, which was a good thing since my grandkids dont like it, but they LOVE ham. So I didnt want to ruin it for them.Great recipe as always Alton! Thanks!

We just made this today with 16 hams for a church dinner. Wow. It was the most delicious ham any of us have ever had. Everyone wanted the recipe. We gave Alton all the credit but our last name is Brown too, so we're claiming him as a distant cousin. Thank you for this simple recipe with amazing results.

I made the mistake of making this ham for a potluck at my wife's office. Now, whenever there's an occasion there I'm called upon to make the ham. I counted. In the last four years it's been twenty-one (half hams!
There simply isn't anything remotely like it.

Finally made this. It was amazing. I'll definitely make it again! My husband has celiac disease, so I used gluten-free gingersnaps. The leftover ham bone made a delicious split pea soup!

Amazing! I made this for Christmas dinner and I could not have asked for a better recipe. It was very easy to follow and the end product was fantastic! Plus, this was my first time ever cooking a ham. My family raved about how flavorful this ham was! I will definitely be making this again!

Sooo much better than any Honey Baked or anyone's homemade ham I've ever had! It's simply the best and so very easy to make with minimal ingredients. Everyone who has sampled this ham, requests I prepare a separate ham just for them! This ham has become more popular than my hubby's famous fried turkey, therefore taking over at holiday meals now being the star at the table. Thanks for sharing Alton!

If you are hesitant to try this recipe.....you HAVE to give it a try! Just prepared this ham, exactly as written, for Christmas dinner. It was beyond a hit, every one at the table agreed that it was the best ham they've ever had! Thanks Alton for sharing your grandma's recipe! One word of advice....don't cover the ham with foil after it comes out of the oven as the crispiness of the coating gets soggy. I did this to 'hold' dinner and fixed it by popping it back into the oven to crisp it back up. Live and learn.
