This is my go too recipe for brownies. My boyfriend's room mate asks me to make then for him every time I see him! absolutely delicious!

Update: We let these cool overnight and they were much, much better.
My wife called these the $10 brownies. Not because that's what they tasted like, but because that's what they would have cost. All that cocoa, butter, and sugar. I doubled the recipe the first time I made them. I'm not sure why, since each time I've tried one of Alton's recipes (I think this is the third they haven't turned out as I expected.
All right, I may have forgotten the salt this time, but I can't remember. Everything else was as called for on the recipe. Very, very sweet. Too greasy from the overload of butter and I could feel, literally feel my heart rate go up as I ate one of them.
I'm going to have to be more careful when I make Mr. Brown's food in the future. I still love your show, as my 3 yr old daughter does. "Mr. Brown" trumps even Dora in her viewing preferences.

I used this recipe for the first time two weeks ago and I will be using it again this weekend and from now on. This recipe is easy to follow and creates amazing brownies! I used this recipe to make Mexican brownies. I used Mexican vanilla instead of regular vanilla, then added cinnamon and chili powder to the recipe. It resulted in a very complex and great tasting brownie.

These brownies baked beautifully! It's a recipe I've always wanted for chewy, moist brownies. Maybe next time I will make them with walnuts. Thanks Alton!

Turned out well however, this is only the second time I have made homemade brownies so it may just be we aren't used to such a strong cocoa flavor. Will use this recipe again.

I really enjoyed the texture. They were incredibly easy to make. My only issue is that I thought there was too much chocolate. I might try them again with less cocoa, and add some walnuts.

One of the best brownies I have made. So fudge, chocolate, so... Just... Heaven. I used Ghirardelli chocolate powder and they came out so perfect. Make these brownies if you're having a sweet tooth, it's so worth it!

These are the best brownies ever. Followed the recipe exactly--baking is a science. They reminded me of a flour less chocolate cake. Great depth of flavor.
