I loved these brownies!!! However, I did not have enough cocoa so I used about 3 oz of a Hershey's Chocolate bar and did not use as much sugar and they turned out beautiful! Thanks Alton!

I was really disappointed. When I think of a brownie I think sweet and chocolately. This was extremely bitter. Not enjoyable.

These were delicious! They have a rich chocolate flavor so much better than a box mix. They were also really easy to make!

I have made these two times and everytime they have been a sucess. I Made these brownies with some walnuts and chocolate chips. I put the neeleys caramel sauce recipe from the "everything but the kitchen sink" sundaes. And some store bought vanilla bean ice cream. Complete sucess. Thanks alton!!

terric01 - yes. Anytime you bake and the recipe calls for cocoa, it is unsweetened powder cocoa. Hope this helps.

My 7 year old daughter and I made the recipe tonight. We agree that these are the best brownies we've had. I followed the recipe exactly (I'd never try to outdo Alton Brown. They were perfect.

I haven't tried this recipe yet, but it sounds good. The answer to next2day's question is natural cocoa. He said to use natural cocoa in applications like baking that have fat in the recipe.
