These are a delicious & easy alternative to box brownies! I used a 13x9 pan instead OF 8X8 and added a single serving pack of instant coffee to the wet ingredients before mixing it all together. PEOPLE PLEASE READ THE DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY! IT'S 1&1/4 CUPS OF COCOA!!! THESE ARE NO FAIL BROWNIES!!!

These brownies were a little to chocolatey for my taste, but my husband liked them.

I did use exact measures (other then using a tad less sugar and these not only came out perfect but tasty. It is not a fudge brownie, you can taste the cocoa, but for what it is it sure is great.

If you use the correct measurements, this recipe is delicious! One and one quarter cup of cocoa is perfect. I used a 13x9 pan, as we don't like thick brownies. They are a perfect mixture of moist and cakey. Will never buy box mix again.

Delicious!!! These turned out tender, moist, sort of cake-like and gooey in the middle, with a lovely crispy layer on top. I cooked two minutes longer. I just combined the wet ingredients in one bowl using a wisk, and the dry ingredients in another bowl with a wisk, then stirred together. I was too lazy to get the mixer out. I reversed the flour and cocoa amounts which gave them a wonderful chocolately, perfect with ice cream flavor! These brownies passed my 8 year old's taste test as well! I'm am not a baker or even much of a cook, but I was out of box brownie mix and my daughter was demanding a brownie. Woo-hoo!! A recipe I can make and not marf up.

I think people are misreading the ingredient list. It calls for 1 1/4 cups of cocoa (1.25 cups NOT 11/4 cups (or 2.75 cups of cocoa.
The only critique - it needed a little longer in the oven.

These brownies are incredibly delicious! I was a little nervous because of some of the reviews but I went for it anyway and I am so glad I did. My husband and I could not stop eating them-they were unreal! Not exactly the healthiest of brownie recipes but worth the treat

Too much cocoa powder, almost tasted bitter. Brownies were too dry, crumbly and cake-like for my taste. Would not make again.

If you like the taste of cocoa powder, you'll like these brownies. Next time I will use less cocoa powder and more flour because it was just too much for me. Otherwise not bad.
