A real old-fashioned brownie. Very easy to make and super warm with ice cream.

These are good, but I'd like them better if they had more flour.

I am a little embarassed to admit that I have never made brownies from scratch.I got a huge brownie craving one night and no brownie mix so I decided to give AB's brownies a try. They are excellent and very easy. The taste is much richer and produces a more moist brownie than a box ever could. I found that sifting the brown sugar was somewhat difficult, but it helps if you put some of the white sugar in the sifter at the same time. It seems to help break up the lumps in the brown sugar. I did not have any of the problems with cooking times that previous reviews did. 44 min at 300 and they were perfect. My box days are over. Thanks Alton!

These brownies were way too rich. It tasted more like fudge than a cakey brownie. If you're a real chocolate lover than these may be the ones for you.

These brownies are great! I doubled the recipe and put in a 13x9 pan. Baked a little longer than a single recipe and they turned out wonderfully. Very dense and fudgy. I can't wait to make them again.

My son thought these were a little too bitter for his taste, but all of the adults who have tried them absolutely raved. I used Penzey's cocoa (not sure if it made a difference and between this recipe and Emeril's chocolate waffle recipe, I had to reorder. Has now become my go-to brownie recipe.
