This is sooo easy, tasty and it is quicker than running to the store for that "other" stuff. I usually make a 1/2 recipe, which fits nicely in one of the "other" containers.

This syrup tastes like it took far longer to make than it actually did. I used Scharrfen Berger cocoa powder and it worked beautifully. It took me 10 minutes from start to finish, and the results are amazing. I love the bittersweet taste, and I can actually taste the vanilla in the aftertaste. The consistency is ideal! I'm definitely going to make this again, as I don't think it's going to last long!

This is the best cocoa syrup. Way to go Alton. The recipe is perfect, as usual, when Alton's recipes are concerned. I was going to give this away as Christmas gifts but got too busy. Next year, however, I will give it away as a gift. Enjoy it--it's a good one!!

This is a simple recipe and it is unbelievable better than any store bought chocolate syrup you can buy. Easy to make, and no preservatives. I'm going to have to throw out the bottle of store bought syrup since the kids won't use it anymore. Thanks for a great alternative.

Unforunatly none of the stores around here carry Dutch processed cocoa, so I made it with regular. Never again am I buying chocolate syrup! This is wonderful. My kids love it as chocolate milk and my husband loves it over his coffe ice crea with grilled pineapple. Thanks Alton!

This was so easy to make and the taste is amazing. I used peppermint extract instead of the vanilla to make a nice mint chocolate syrup. I add it to my cappuccino to make a quick and easy mint chocolate cappuccino. It is also great on ice cream. I highly recomend it.

I used this recipe with regular cocoa powder because I could not find Dutch Processed. It still is without a doubt the VERY BEST syrup you will ever taste on ice cream, in coffee or right off the tip of your finger.
Remember, DO NOT WALK away from this or you'll spend more time cleaning your stove top. Trust me, it's worth the 15 minutes at the stove and you will be THE TALK of the Family Ice Cream Social!!!
