Simple and tasty. I love the fact that I can brown and braise in a single pan, and the gravy came together beautifully for me. I used some sprigs of fresh thyme instead of dried, which gave it a great flavor and was easy to fish the springs out before service. My toddlers and teen loved the steak, and my husband said it was the most tender cube steak he's ever eaten. Definitely going to add this to my usual dinner rotation.

Thanks Alton, for another great Dutch Oven recipe...... and because the initial prep is so similar to your Swiss Steak recipe - that makes it even better! I love both!!!

My husband says this is the best cube steak he has ever eaten. I did alter the recipe slightly by using beef broth and beef consume instead of chicken broth. Thanks, Alton for another great recipe that will continue to please my family.

This recipe is BEST! Though I had few addition of onion & garlic. Then I was in a hurry so I cooked it under the temp of 350 for 1 hr & 15 mins but it still turned out great. Thank you Alton for sharing your talent!

This recipe is fantastic! I use it at least every other week. Fantastic! The taste is perfect. Depending on the chicken stock you use, be careful with the salt. I like to add extra pepper too, but everyone's taste is different. The steak always comes out fork tender and moist! I have also used this recipe in my crock pot. All the liquid does not absord like in the oven, but it gives a great gravy!!

My family loves this recipe. I have only made this recipe with wild game such as elk and deer, and it works beautifully. You can't tell it's game at all! My daughter is a very picky eater, and this is now her favorite food!

Absolutely fabulous! This tastes just like the country steak my mom used to make when I was a kid. The only alteration I made was that I added 1 tsp crushed garlic to the liquid before putting the steaks back in. My family loved this one, and my kids are so picky about what they eat. A definite keeper!

I could not believe how flavorful and tender this was for such an easy recipe! I used cubed steak and believe me, this will become a staple in my recipes. I sent to my sister too.
