I didn't have the honey, so I made this with 3/4 C Brown Sugar, 1/3 C Apple Cider 1/3 C Orange Juice and 12 oz package of fresh cranberries. All I can say is that it is amazing and 10x better than any canned cranberries I've ever had before.

Gotta love Alton Brown, the grand master of recipes. I have never tried to make cranberry sauce before, I always went with the canned cranberries. This year we tried the recipe, my 7 and 8 year old's helped. It was amazing! It looks awesome. We smashed some of the cranberries while they were cooking in the pot and it turned out great. We added some raisins and crushed walnuts to the bowl after the cranberries cooked!

Only 3 ingredients and I still managed to screw it up, LOL!
I watched the time tick away, and my berries still had not burst. At the 15 minute mark I took a potato masher to the whole pot! Needless to say it's a good idea I decided against the whole Jello-mold approach and just served it in a bowl.
All fail aside, it still jelled to a nice consistency if not wholly firm. It has a vivid dark-fuschia color that is almost artificial. It was quite tasty and was all the rave, even for "non-cranberry" folks. I'm under severe pressure to make this again for thanksgiving.

Another winning recipe from Alton Brown... this was super tasty. I must admit, this was my first attempt at making whole berry cranberry sauce, yet after my family's comments, it is clear that this was the first of MANY times. I will be making this recipe for years to come :

This sounds great but my son likes it less chunky. If I puree it a little after I remove it from the heat. Will it still set correctly in the mold?

The best ever!! The first time I made cranberry sauce but made jam before and under stand the over cooking it. I only cooked it for 12 min and it was the best!! You can not over cook this for 1 sec or it will not work you will need to use gelatin. Yea and No Cottage cheese in the middle!!

This was the first time I made cranberry sauce. Although I loved it and my guests loved it, it was a bit runny. Probably my fault but it was still very good and I will make another go at it on Christmas!
