I halved this recipe as I was cooking for two. It came out wonderfully and was a perfect compliment to the meal. Will def make again.

Quite literally, the BEST mashed potatoes we've ever made. It was still creamy out of the fridge, I've never had potatoes that stayed creamy even when cold. The taste was phenomenal; My husband left a little of the skin on (but not too much so there was some texture. Amazing!

Tried out this recipe for part of Thanksgiving dinner, and it was a big success ~ everyone like it! While some recipe's that use "real" potatoes end up less like mashed potatoes and more like "mashed raw potatoes with a strong plain potato flavor" these came out perfectly. These are really, really good. I might try adding some cheesy next time for "cheesy-garlic potatoes" (using this recipe as a base. Not sure I can go back to a regular "box mix" now! Thanks Alton!
Although a small warning: this recipe makes - a lot - of mashed potatoes! Although we had no trouble eating the leftovers within a week, this might be inconvient for those that live alone, or are just trying to find a mashed potato recipe for a small, two-person dinner.

These were so good! I made them for Thanksgiving, so I didn't want to use the Parm. this time around. I did add 3-Tbls butter though. They were so creamy. I'm going to use these (with Parmesan along side beef tenderloin for christmas dinner!

I have used several different types of recipes, and this one takes the cake! HANDS DOWN! I used it for Thanksgiving and my whole family loved them!! : Thank you FN! I'll be using this recipe from here on out! I did cook the half and half and garlic a little bit longer than in the recipe, and added more garlic and parmesan. I also used a 5 lb bag of potatoes and threw in a half stick of butter as well...
