These are delicious. I make them all of the time now...I hate to admit it but I used to use "boxed" potatoes - hot mess I know! But once I mentioned food mill the hubby ran out and picked one up and that was all she wrote! I have also added some smashed roasted garlic or even cheese and bacon...these potatoes are amazing! Thank you Alton. :

I have a Stand mixer with a meat grinder attachment that was a perfect substitute for the food mill!! As Alton says he loves a multi-tasker!!!

Delicious every time!! My culinary challenged husband takes charge of this item, and it is always a hit. We’ve substituted Butter Potatoes at times, and have also made it using a ricer or old fashioned potato masher right in the pot. This is now been honorably added as a tried and true family tradition for holiday dinners.

For such a simple staple of a recipe, you'd think that there wouldn't be much to making mashed potatoes, but for sure, this recipe was a hit! One of my favorite all time recipes!
