This was my first attempt at making creme brulee and it came out great. Everybody loved it. the hardest part was finding a vailla bean. I think everyone should try to make it

this was my first time making creme brulee and so I researched every creme brulee recipe on this site. I chose this one and I made a good choice. Its simple and traditional and above all delicious... very easy to make. There is nothing about the recipe I would change.

this is the only dessert i order out. and now, the mystery is gone, so i may never waste my money again. restaurants over feed you anyway, so as long as you are near home, prep these the day before, sprinkle with sugar and light them up when you get home (and have more room in your tummy. enjoy, and spice up your night with your sweetheart, guys!

Think this recipe out does any other one I have used. Excellent and yet easy prep! I'm always lookin' for the perfect 5, but I may not find one any better than this recipe! Thanks, Alton

SOOOO sinful but SOOOO good. Not sure why they rate this recipe as medium difficulty - it's like falling off a log. I've tried creme brulee before with pretty lousy results - it's all about the TORCH! Make the investment. It makes all the difference in achieving that fabulous crunchy top. Although, I'm surprised Alton recommends a torch since as far as I can see it is the ultimate "uni-tasker" - which is a big AB no no.

Made this at camp at the request of our Cadette Girl Scouts. IT was a HUGE hit. While a REAL oven would have probably worked better than the one in our Girl Scout cabin, the highlight of this recipe is using a torch! Will definitely make this again AT HOME in my own real oven!!
