This is definitely "good enough for company," even though it is so easy. Be sure to use a "mild" curry powder, unless you and your guests want a four-alarm fire on your tongues. One slight change I made: I put the curry power into the hot butter, with the onions. Traditionally, hot oil is used to release the flavor of curry powder.

I was delighted to find a pea soup recipe that did not contain meat and was rather tasty. I did however read the reviews of others and decided to add more water. I actually think I would have liked the thicker soup better. My only suggestion is to do the recipe as is and then your next time tweek it a little. Overall the taste was good and just what I wanted a light soup that could be enjoyed during the summer.

We really enjoyed this soup, which had just the right hint of curry. Uses ingredients that are generally on-hand as well.

when i saw this on tv i was like.. craving for it. the ingredients weren't too expensive, directions were not too hard and although i just couldnt get to the smoothness that alton had for his soup on his show, my sister who saw the ingredient and doubted, loved it after she tasted it and i did too. just like how i imagined it to be. great recipe- it makes a perfect comfort food :

Delicious flavor especially with the curry. It came out way too thick though using only 5 cups of broth but when I added more broth it was great.
