    Best Eggnog Ever!!!

I've made this recipe 3-4 times now and I love it.. it has a wonderful texture and taste. I made a HUGE mistake this time though... another reviewer suggested a little cinnamon... Well, I added just a little, just about 1/4 t.-- Ruined my eggnog. So I added more Nutmeg to counter-act the cinnamon, helped a little but I am SAD! A suggestion to ya'll .... Never add any cinnamon to Eggnog!!

But this recipe is still the BEST, my fault though in the end -- no cinnamon EVER!

Made this for the first time using the cooked directions. Not sure why some are commenting that it was bland but do make sure you use freshly grated nutmeg. I also added a pinch of ground ginger and a tsp of vanilla extract. I found the eggnog very rich and thick. I decided to add the bourbon to each glass so I could tailor it for each person.

I think the next time I make it I may use 2% or even skim milk.

I Love Love Love this recipe. Simple and so much more cost efficient than the store bought varieties. I used whipping cream instead of the heavy cream for that decedant end to a holiday meal. Thanks, Alton!

Simply divine! The perfect holiday drink that blows any conventional supermarket eggnog out of the water! Thanks, Alton!

Finally, I won't have to hear my husband ask for that yucky store-bought stuff ever again.

My son and I have been making this eggnog for years. We use spiced rum instead of bourbon. Also we sometimes substitute half and half for the whipping cream.
