I have made it twice, the second time I did not use Brandy, only the Gold Rum, also I found out that the Zest of an orange and lemon is only the color part, if any of the white part gets in your recipe, it will make the cake have a bitter taste, I did those two things on my second try and it was the most delicious moist fruit cake I ever had, my family loved them.

Very moist and delicious. Has a traditional fruitcake taste but fresher.

Made this fruitcake for my family last Christmas and they RAVED about it! They preferred this fruitcake over the nasty candied fruitcake seen in the supermarkets! Will make this every year from now on!

My husband made this wonderful fruitcake last year for Christmas, and everyone loved it! We plan to make several small loaves to give as gifts this year. Try it, you'll love it too, even if you (think you hate fruitcake.

I've been using this recipe the last couple of years. Never seen a fruitcake disappear so fast. Go with a cup of pecan's if you're a pecan fan. I prefer to skip the brandy and just use the gold rum to spritz it with.

Finally, a FruitCake that can actually be eaten!! I've even made some FruitCake converts with this recipe :-
I have to live Gluten-Free...that means NO flour in anything!! Recipes don't always translate well...but this one worked well.
Finding a GF alcohol can be difficult, but changing the flour to GF flour was easy.
I served this FruitCake to over a dozen guests and they ALL enjoyed it. Thank you!!

My grandmother, who is from England, loves this cake it as it reminds her of the fruit cakes she used to make. I have converted the non fruitcake eaters of my family to fruitcake eaters!!! Everyone expects me to make this cake every Christmas. I highly recommend this recipe to anyone. It is a great holiday treat.
