Very very good!! I used half and half and used French bread... Did not heat mine in the oven as they were perfect without this step... Will make this often... This was a great breakfast for dinner along with the turkey bacon and scrambled eggs

This recipe rocks! Once you've made it you will never go back to a beaten egg and bread.

Absolutely delicious. Perfect French toast! I did add some vanilla extract, cinnamon and coconut milk to the custard. I didn't have half and half only heavy whipping cream so I used the coconut milk to thin it out. I used challah bread. It was so much easier than I thought.

I made this for my husband's breakfast in bed. I used 15 grain bread and this recipe put a twist on this otherwise ordinary bread.

C'est magnifique! I like to use brown sugar, makes it a little sweeter. And a bit of cinnamon. Thanks, Alton, you are a kitchen guru.

the honey puts this french toast over the top! i usually make mine with half and half, white sugar and vanilla, but my kids immediately noticed the difference with honey. this is our new go-to recipe

A few changes were made...no 1/2 and 1/2, so we used my vanilla flavored coconut creamer (dairy allergy and soy milk. We also added a little vanilla. Yummy! We noticed it was sweeter and less "eggy" than the French toast mom and dad used to make. It was a hit with the kids = Great keeper!

Made this for my sister's birthday and she is a very picky eater and loved it! Fairly easy and tastes especially good with bananas. We saved some bread in the custard and let those sit over night. We had them for breakfast the next morning as just as good as the day before. Will definitely make again.
