This was my first Alton Brown recipe....good start. The best french toast I ever had. I used half and half and 1% milk, added 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla and maple extract and a pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg. I also used texas toast. I set my electric griddle to 325 and oh boy was it tasty!!

This recipe was great! I was craving a little flavor POW though so I actually used Italian Sweet Cream coffee creamer instead of half and half and I added a 1/4 tsp cinnamon. As crazy as it sounds- it was SO good! HUGE hit with company.

Great recipe...super delish, fairly easy (although not the quickest version around but so worth it. It's my go-to weekend breakfast treat now!

Love it!! I didn't follow the recipe exactly. I put some stevia and maple syrup instead of honey. I love the way he cooked it though! It wasn't soggy the least bit. I served it with homemade fruit sauce and fresh fruit. I think that company will be coming back again soon!

My boyfriend is extremely picky about his food, but he really wanted to try French Toast. I chose this recipe for his little experiment, and it was a big hit! His only complaint was that is was a bit soft in the middle, but I think if I had cooked it a bit longer if would have been fine. I only soaked the bread for 15 sec because I used Texas Toast and wasn't sure how it would hold up for the full 30 seconds. I have never been disappointed with an Alton Brown recipe. Thanks!

I have never been a big fan of french toast this recipe has changed that. I was looking for something for my husband and daughters birthday breakfast (they share a birthday and came across Altons recipe. I did change one or two things, I added a bit of vanilla and I didn't soak the bread as long as suggested. I also cooked it on a flat top with margarine. My husband said this was the best french toast he has ever had. I can almost always count on Alton to have the best recipe.

Yum! The addition of the warm honey was very tasty and the technique made a huge difference in the final texture. This will be my regular recipe from now on. I followed the directions exactly and used day old French bread. I made sure to slice the bread only 1/2 in thick which probably made a big difference.

Aweful!!! I don't know if it was the poor directions, poor ingredient listing, or perhaps the bread used (though I used what was listed.
The end result: French 'Toast' Mush
You should be ashamed Alton...
