I loved it! Martini was awesome as the original recipe. Also had a spoonful of granita in a champagne flute with presecco.

I am sipping this delight as I type. The Granita is wonderful. I added a half ounce of Grand Marnier to make it more of a true cosmo.

We just had these for the second year running for T-day. I use about 2 ounces of the granita, some fresh line juice, a shot of vodka and shake until melted. Then I pour it into a martini glass and top with 7up (or similar, this year we used the 7up pomegranate. I love what the carbonation adds to the drink! I made a double batch but I'm keeping the 2nd half for myself =

Has anyone tried pre-mixing the vodka before freezing the mixture? I would tend to think the alcohol might prevent it from freezing solid, but then would the alcohol evaporate?

I agree with all the others, but I just throw the frozen granita with the other ingredients into the blender and I'm done! I scraped the first time.... the blender is so much faster!
    My favorite drink!1 EVER!!!

Absolutely fantastic. Everyone loved it and super easy to make. I made a large amount, so I went with bottled lime juice, instead of fresh

This is delicious! It's neither too tart nor too sweet, and the granita/lime combination plays very nicely with a variety of liquors. I prefer to make this drink with rum rather than vodka--I know vodka is traditional in a cosmo, but I just don't like the taste much. Either way, happy drinking!

I made this for a holiday party yesterday and was delighted! I made several with the vodka and lime, and some with sierra mist cranberry splash soda (with or without the lime and all incarnations were fantastic. I took some previous reviewers' advice and used plastic containers with lids to freeze my double batch, and also took the containers out of the freezer about an hour before the party. Let me tell you - the festive red color, and fantastic taste were the hit of the party! I will most certainly make this again. I also think that you could mix this with lemonade in the summer for a refreshing cooler, or a "hard" lemonade for a fun summer drink. I hope you all have a chance to make and enjoy this easy, impressive and delicious drink!
