This is a great desert for those that love amusement park funnel cake. Children and adults alike just loved this tasty treat. The second time I made it, as an additionial topper I had both plain and chocolate whip cream and I sauted some frozen mixed berries as for a fruit topping. I love the food network.

There is not nearly enough sugar in the dough recipe. I completely agree with the previous reviewer that all the flavor comes from the sugar on top. I will make this again, but add more sugar to the dough next time.
One tip: it's easiest to flip the cakes with spring loaded tongs. They don't damage them, and there's less oil sprayed around.

I love funnel cakes! They are so great.
I buy funnel cakes at Lake Winnie every time I go there, but now that I have the recipe for it, I now can make it any time I want, and I save more money now by making them myself.
    *Thanks alot*

It was good but it did not quite have the same taste as of those you would get at a carnival.
