This was a fun recipe to make, with the proper tools the recipe was easy to follow. I added chocolate chips to the last batch as a little twist and wow what a nice suprise.

These are the BEST ginger snap cookies I have ever had. Another home run for Alton.

Tasty? What did you thiGood cookie, I baked the crispy version. I didn't have ginger candies but that's ok because I prefer to have a more traditional snap... My only thing is that they weren't as spicy as I like. The second time I baked them I doubled on seasonings (with the exception of molasses due to its moisture content. Those were better. And yes all my seasonings were not old so the essence was all therenk?

these were very good. had to improvise on a couple things - couldn't afford the cardamom so left out completely. not sure what this affected but the cookies turned out fine. also, didn't have the ginger candies so increased the amount of powdered ginger. all in all, i was in a pinch for time and these worked out just fine. next time will be more prepared and search for the ginger candy since i'm sure that will help make it even more tasty.

These are awesome! I took them to Christmas dinner and they were a hit! I would recommend letting them bake more rather than less; most of mine are definitely on the chewy side but the last batch sat in the over a few minutes longer and I thought those were the best: sort of crispy on the outside but still chewy in the middle. I also rolled mine in sugar before baking, sort of like molasses crinkles but otherwise followed recipe to the letter.
