We added a little extra spice, for the second batch. They were great.

LOVE LOVE LOVE that you weigh vs. measuring. It's so much more accurate. As everyone else said, crispy outside, chewy inside. Nice spicy flavor. Was afraid from the smell of the dough that I was making home-made Gingeroo's (from Trader Joe's. These are so much more than those could hope to be.

Really delicious! This was very easy. Anyone who knows much about baking knows you get better results by measuring by weight, so that should not be a major set back to making these cookies. They are buttery and have a definite ginger kick. I added more crystalized ginger. I can see why Alton is addicted! I am, too!

This is an AWESOME recipe! I followed the recipe completely, I didn't alter a thing (which is a difficult thing for me to do, I always change something.... and these turned out so lovely. My 10 year old son helped make these, even with weighing everything, we all enjoyed eating them...... even my 2 year old daughter.
If you like ginger snaps..... you'll LOVE these.
Crisp on the outside, chewy on the inside. DELICIOUS!

I made the candied ginger from scratch using Alton's recipe, and they turned out great! I appreciate the measurements being by weight. The dough looked very wet before they went in the oven, but the cookies came out nice and crispy.

All I can say is WOW, fantastic cookie. Followed the recipe exactly using my scale and they turned out wonderful. This is going to be my cookie for the cookie exchange at work this year. Really glad I tried this one!!!

They taste great...regarding ounces...I figured 8 ounces per cup and went from there...tasty.

I love ginger and these were a great spicy gingersnap. They were even better after sitting overnight. I love that Alton Brown uses the weights for his recipe, it guarantees accurate results batch to batch. Like the reviewer asking whether one person's 1 3/4 cups or another's 2 1/2 cups of flour was accurate... probably both! Just depends on how fluffy your flour is! (ex. Sifted? Old bag that's ended up compressed? One person spooned it gently, the other scooped with the measuring cup? etc

sorry, couldn't make them due to the recipe. half of it was by weight - not everybody has a scale in their kitchen. if you're going to do weights, at least include the measures as well.

Flavor was incredible, but old scientist Alton used ounces instead of measurements for most dry ingredients and molasses. Most people bake with a measuring cup instead of a scale. Great cookies, though!
