I had purchased some lovely carrots for Christmas dinner and of course,
an hour before the meal I was scouting around for a recipe ~ :-
Well I had all the ingredients on hand except the Ginger Ale, but since
someone mentioned Ginger beer in their review, I used that instead....
I started with half recipe because I wasn't sure, but after taste-testing I quickly changed it over and cooked all my carrots this way ~ talk about delicious !!!!
They were a big hit, and I can't emphasize enough how delicious that glaze is !!!!
I was happy there was a little left over in the pan after dinner so I could eat it ! YUM !

Big hit of the dinner party. Easy to make but tasted excellent with the pot roast. Would be good with chicken. The chile powder makes it and the ginger ale added a nice sweetness.

My mom recently made these with a gourmet "pumpkin pie" soda... All I can say is WOW! Will be making these for dinner tomorrow. Sooooooo yummy!

This recipe is so good and super easy to make. I always make these carrots to go along with Alton's meatloaf and it makes the perfect dinner. You can't go wrong with Alton's recipes :

I made these carrots last night for a couple of our good friends. The recipe got rave reviews from us all. It was very easy and so good. No one would guess that the ginger ale and chili powder would be such a good pairing. Will use the recipe again and again!

pretty good , it was fairly simple to make and tasted uniquely good. The only thing is you have to cook it for longer than it says before the glaze will thicken

I made these for Thanksgiving this year and they were excellent! I doubled the amount of carrots and probably because there were so many in the pan, I had to remove them while still al dente so that the glaze could reduce without overcooking the carrots. I also like that they aren't overly sweet like your typical glazed carrots are. Love the addition of the chili powder and I also threw in a dash or two of cumin. Wonderful!

I followed the recipe exactly, the only thing was that I didn't have a saute pan with a lid, so I had to use a pot. Maybe that's why the carrots didn't really brown? Also, the glaze was not very thick, even though I had it on high for 5 minutes. It didn't cling to the carrots, it all ran off to the bottom. I used Seagram's ginger ale.
