I was so nervous to try this recipe. I was cooking for 30 people! Needless to say.....it was incredible. My husband and mother in law kept saying how this was the most moist turkey they have ever had! Follow the instructions to a T and you will have so many people asking your secrets :

We used this brine for Thanksgiving, and loved it so much that we made another smoked turkey for Christmas. We are looking forward to brining our turkeys and throwing them in the smoker this weekend for a family gathering. We will never make a turkey any other way again!!!

I made this today (brined overnight, thinking this would be a sure winner. However, I found the apple (macintosh overwhelmed all else. This was not a flavor I liked. I will not make this again. I will continue to roast turkey (and stuff with homemade wheat bread/fresh herb stuffing just as I have for the last 20 Thanksgivings.

I was skeptical as to whether all this would be worth the extra effort. It was. My first Turkey came out perfect. My mother in law raved. She now wants me to make this every time. I've made this three times and each time the bird is moist and tasty. I now feel confident to experiment with adding different flavors in the brine but the original recipe is perfect as is.

Foolproof! I made this with a kosher turkey and received rave reviews from the entire family including the toddlers! Even leftovers were moist!

I've brined 4 turkeys. Turkey has become a turn-key Sunday meal in my household. Brine turkey on SAT. Roast Turkey on SUN. I am no longer intimidated by the the Turkey roast.

Who says turkey is only for thanksgiving. Not me. I've made this recipe multiple times and it has been a major hit every single time. I have added a few things, mainly Ina Garten's turkey breast wet rub (it's the grand slam turkey in my mind. Anyway, the most important thing about this recipe - and I can't stress this enough - is to not let on about how easy it is. When your family and friends take one bite and fall all over themselves spouting compliments like, "This is the best turkey I've every tasted" or "Would you father my child" (and you will more than likely hear both...repeatedly, just agree with them when they say you must have slaved over that bird all day :]
