The best turkey ever!!! So moist and delicious. I followed the recipe exactly but did cheat and opened the oven a few times, even though I had my probe thermometer, couldn't resist looking! Thank you Alton Brown!!

First time brining a turkey. I read all the glowing reviews, and felt pretty comfortable trying this on our big group this Thanksgiving. I was only concerned about weather or not it would be seasoned correctly, and if it would make the stuffing too salty (yes, Alton, I stuff my turkey! Well, the bird was wonderfully moist. It tasted outstanding! And I hardly have any stuffing left - it was so good! Followed recipe to the letter. Used no other seasoning on the turkey.

I followed the recipe, other than not being able to find crystalized goner OR cinnamon sticks, i just used the powdered versions... this recipe was absolutely AMAZING. my husband told me it was the bes turkey he had ever eaten.as for myself, i had NEVER eaten a turkey that actually had FLAVOR in the meat. my dad fried a turkey and his was still almost full when mine was GONE. i have now been designated the Turkey lady for all family events. it was SO easy, and didnt take long at all. THANK YOU for making my very first turkey cooking experience an amazing one. i went to bed so proud last night. : If you try this one, you WILL NOT be disappointed!

This is a combo review. This recipe is fantastic along with an entertaining article and great recipe from bon appetit mag from 2003 called Alton Browns Perfect Roast Turkey which you can find online. SO AWESOME AND DELICIOUS. We had 18lb turkey. I did not brine, just buttered with aromatics. Browned for 30 min and it was done 2.5 hrs later. AMAZING. I did not open the oven at all during the 2.5 hrs at 350 deg. Probe thermometer worked like a charm. Turkey was done, juicy and flavorful. Thank you Alton Brown. I promise I will never open the oven door again.

Everything you've read in all of these reviews is 100% true. I have never been a fan of roast turkey, but this was absolutely incredible. Tender, juicy, and beautiful presentation. Followed the steps and relied on the videos. It came out perfect. This will be how I make roast turkey from now on.

Absolutely delicious. So delicious that I've been assigned Thanksgiving as 'my' holiday now to ensure that we will get to eat this fabulous turkey again.

This is absolutely the best turkey that I have ever eaten. We followed the recipe and videos to the letter and there is just nothing that can be said negative about how our bird turned out. We have a small oven so we had to cook all our sides after the turkey came out and all we did was cover it with a layer of foil for the hour it took to cook the other dishes, and OMG it almost squirted juice as I cut into it! Juice was rolling down the BREAST as I carved it, that's right, the breast meat was that juicy. This is a MUST for your next Thanksgiving or hell, any time next week would do.....you really are missing out it you don't. As for any negative reviews, all I can say is the poor souls somehow messed the recipe up.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Alton Brown. I have always struggled with making whole chickens and turkeys correctly. This year I served the perfect turkey thanks to this recipe. It was juicy and tasty and the drippings made an outstanding gravy. I now have a new level of confidence. Thank you!
