Careful, once you try this recipe, you'll never go back. It's a lot of extra work but well worth it.

My sister and I always cooked the turkey for thanksgiving...always trying out new recipies, well it all turned out OK. But none really stood out. Until one day I saw him prepared and baked this turkey...I told myself it's worth a try. So we used this recipe for last year's thanksgiving...Oh my goodness! It turned out the BEST turkey...ever! It was so moist throughout the bird and the skin was so crispy and the flavor was so wonderful. Thank you for this bullet proof turkey recipe...I'm done searching...

I love Alton and I hate to lower the rating (I doubt it but I have to say that I just didn't like the texture. My family loved it. They devoured the turkey, but it tasted more like processed turkey then real turkey. Now, I did try a deep-fried turkey last weekend and THAT was AWESOME! Next year for sure!

I could eat turkey every week now. I have used this brine recipe several times now and everyone is amazed at how moist and delicious the bird comes out.

I've never roasted turkey myself in my life and this recipe had saved my thanksgiving dinner! I followed everything in the recipe and as suggested in the tv show and my turkey turned out superbly! Alton, you and this bird recipe is my hero! :
