Great directions - very easy to follow. Provide some illustrations on how to "tie back wings" and which side to cook turkey in the oven.

This brine recipe is top-notch. The bird comes out super moist, extremely flavorful and makes others jealous they don't have you cooking for them all the time! A suggestion is to use a bucket with a cover and put this outside if the weather is cooperative... Had a bit of a problem when the temperature suddenly dropped sub-zero and woke in the morning to find my brine... well, frozen solid.

I am 26 years old and I had the wonderful privlage of making Thanksgiving dinner this year....talk about stress!!! I had both sides of the family , plus the in-laws, and didn't know the first thing about cooking a turkey...until i saw an episode of "Good Eats: Romancing the Turkey"!! I couldn't believe it, Alton was teaching me how to make the best turkey ever...and he did! I did everything he did on the show and my turkey was a hit with NO LEFTOVERS!!! Everyone complemented on the taste and how juicy the white meat was!! This si definately a recipe worth trying! From a beginner turkey cooker to a novice one, you will have a crowd pleaser with this scrumptous turkey recipe!!

Definitely the moistest and tastiest turkey I ever had. Will definitely be making this again. Loved the short cook time, too. PERFECT!

First my first turkey cooking experience I couldn't have asked for a better recipe. What was even better was the turkey was done so fast and I didn't even have to get up early to start it.
The brine was fabulous. I think I'll try it on the holiday prime rib too.

This was hands-down the tastiest, juciest, turkey I've ever eaten - even the leftovers were juicy. With beautiful crispy brown skin and the flavor from the aromatics was amazing.
The only problem I ran into was during the initial 30 minutes at 500 degrees - the oil tended to splatter off the turkey and hit the element in my electric oven - and created quite a bit of smoke. I was only able to complete 20 minutes at this temp - I was waiting for the smoke alarms to go off!
Next time, I'll cover the oven rack with a sheet of aluminum foil during this period.

This recipe turned out the best turkey I ever made. It was juicy and full of flavor. It also made the best gravy I ever made and plenty of it. Brining is the secret and to only way to prepare a turkey!
