The best thing about this recipe is the meat is very moist, even the white meat. Another good thing is the reduced cooking time by not stuffing the bird. We simpley make the stuffing on the side or even in mini loaf pans, so everyone gets their own. I tried this the first time about four years ago and now I get asked to make it every Thanksgiving and/or Christmas.

My partner and i had been looking for a great turkey recipe for a couple of years then we saw Alton Browns thanksgiving special. This recipe like all of his is really simple. You defrost your bird soak it in his wonderful cold brine for 8 hours and roast it. The vegetable stock and herbs give the bird a great flavor and the turkey is never dry and so tender it can almost fall off the bone. Had so many drippings that i had more gravey than we knew what to do with. if you want a great Thanksgiving make this bird the children and inlaws will cheer and you will know its good eats.

I have to admit, until last year I had never made a turkey. My whole family came to our place to Turkey Day and I chanced this recipe on a 26 lb. bird. I'll have everyone know there were NO leftovers!!! Everyone loved the turkey. It was super moist all the way through and a beautiful golden brown!! Now I'm stuck hosting Thanksgiving for all the years to come, but at least I know the turkey will never be a flop! Thanks, AB!

I tried this recipe 2 years ago and it was such a big hit it is the only way I cook the bird now! The turkey is succulent and tender! I nearly had a heart attack when I went to my recipe folder and my stained and worn copy of this recipe was missing. I printed it again and encourage everyone to do the same. You will love the ease of preperation and more importantly the wonderful taste!!!

I highly recommend brining your turkey with Alton's recipe. I used it for the first time last Thanksgiving and OH MY GOODNESS was the turkey full of flavor and juicy. Highly recommend for first time Thanksgiving cookers and old alike throw out all knowledge in past and follow this recipe to the T. You won't be disappointed.

I've made this recipe for the last 4 years. It is the BEST and I mean the BEST turkey you will ever eat ... the meat is moist and the skin is crispy.

Five stars isn't enough! Absolutely the best turkey my family has EVER had. I love to cook as much as I love to eat and this bird made me King for a day! Thanks Mr. Brown!

I've made this turkey a few times and it always comes out juicy and tender. It could not be easier to make and it looks great when it comes to the table.
