I made this recipe almost exact. The only difference is that I used craisins instead of raisins. My husband who usually hates granola ate most of it in 3 days. I love this recipe I will definitely be giving this as Christmas gifts this year.

We went on vacation to a bed and breakfast in Vermont. They had granola every morning for breakfast. I loved it so much I searched for a recipe. I have always loved Alton's recipes so I decided to try it. Let me tell you it is better than the granola in Vermont. I have it for breakfast, eat it alone or even on ice cream. The only change I made was I used dried cherries, cranberries, blueberries and apricots. Try this recipe you will not be disappointed.

My family loves this recipe! I keep a bowl in the kitchen at all times for anyone to grab when they want. I line my baking sheets with parchment paper for easy cleanup. I usually make a double recipe - using 1/4 cup expeller pressed safflower oil & 1/4 cup extra virgin coconut oil. I also add 1 cup pecans, 1 cup macadamia nuts and 1 cup walnuts in addition to the almonds.(keeping proportions the same I also add flax seeds, a bit of honey and a teaspoon of cinnamon to the doubled recipe. I toss it once at 40 mins. Once baked, I add the raisins & also dried blueberries - and depending on what I have on hand - anything from dried cherries, dried pineapple to mango with fabulous reviews from the family. It's a winner. Make it exact per the recipe or add what you love. It always comes out delicious!

Tasty? Amazing!!!! I didn't have cashews and maple syrup. Instead of maple syrup I used 1/2 molasses and 1/2 honey, and instead of vegetable oil, I used canola oil. I added cinnamon too. The time was exactly right (I hour 15 minutes. I used two baking sheets. I stirred three times during the baking. I added raisins (black and gold, dates and dried cranberries. My daughters loved this granola!!! It was delicious!!!!!!

Very good. I sometimes use honey instead of maple syrup. I usually add walnuts with the almonds instead of cashews. I also mix dried cranberries in with the raisins.. Its great with many ways to improvise, depending on what you have on hand. It is great served as cereal with milk or with fruit & yogurt. My boyfriend likes to eat it like cookies, as a snack.

Awesome! Followed the recipe exactly and it's so good. Next time might try adding dried cranberries, too!

Excellent! I used pine nuts and pistachios in place of the almonds and cashews, because that's all I had on hand. I also chopped up dried apricots and dried cranberries instead of the raisins and coconut oil in lieu of the vegie oil. I think the coconut oil gives it a nice flavor. I serve mine over yogurt and it makes an excellent breakfast and a yummy late night snack!

Best Granola!! I have tried several different recipes and this is everyone's favorite. I make this almost weekly. My son brought 3 empty cannisters to refill, I think his room mates are eating too. I do use the coconut oil & golden raisins for the basic recipe, for my husband & kids (grownups. I also add cranberry & dry ginger, my favorite, I have tried it with dry blueberry, apricots, cherry, pineapple & macadamia (another good one. Thank you Alton!!

Perfectly crunchy! As another reviewer mentioned, I used coconut oil in place of the veggie oil to make it a bit healthier. I also used walnuts instead of cashews and dried cranberries along with the raisins. It is totally versatile, so try what nuts and dried fruits you like! I will definitely be making this weekly!
