This is delicious! I've been snacking on it since the last 30 minutes of cooking. I love the salty/sweet taste. I made a couple substitutions just based on what I didn't have. I substituted roasted sunflower seeds but used the slivered almonds for the nuts and blueberry craisens (sp, instead of raisins, which I put in at the beginning (I misread the directions. It was great though and the house had a nice blueberry aroma in addition to the other smells from the granola.

Easy to make and delicious. I brought it into work to share and it was gone by the end of the day.

Wonderful, replaced the vegetable oil with coconut oil and the raisins with dried cranberries. Absolutely delicious!! Will never be happy with store bought granola again.

followed the recipe as written. turned out ok, though i didn't like having to babysit it for more than an hour. also, the maple flavoring was a bit simple. i modified this recipe using ina garten's as a reference. baked for 30 min at 325, stirring halfway. for the flavoring, used 4 T honey, 2 T maple syrup and 1 T good vanilla. also added 2 teaspoons of cinnamon. i like raisins, but liked this better with dried cherries. all-in-all, a good base recipe but it could be better!

What an awesome, easy to make recipe. Thank you Alton. I will never buy a box of granola in the store ever again. I had my granola with coconut milk and it was great. Enjoy

Best granola recipe I have tried. I have substitued other nuts (sunflower seeds, sliced instead of slivered almonds and even left out the dried fruit. Always double the recipe. This goes fast.

Wow! So I made this recipe as Christmas gifts for a group of 12 friends. I bought the ingredients in bulk and gifted the finished product in adorable 1/2 quart mason jars. I've never made granola and this recipe was so easy and absolutely delicious. I did add 1 tablespoon of kentury bourbon vanilla and then would switch up the nuts and coconut based on the tastes of my friends. A week later I would get text pictures of their empty mason jars. 3 weeks later people are still talking about "my granola". I will be doing this annually from here on out.
