I was so looking forward to making this granola but was disappointed. There were not enough ingredients to call this granola. The cashews are too overpowering and there was not enough dried fruit to make it chewy such as dried cranberries, chopped dates or apricots for example. Also the baking time was too long. I made it again adding the dried fruit and a little chocolate chips for sweetness and reduced the baking time. It tasted great!

Delicious! I used 1 1/2 C of sliced almonds and no cashews and no raisins, because that's what I had on hand and it is fabulous! And it was so easy that my 2 1/2 year old was thrilled to help out with measuring and mixing! And the whole house just smelled awesome while it was cooking. Next time I may take another poster's suggestion about corn syrup to make some clumps. And I may also adopt the suggestion to bag this as gifts at holiday time! As always, thanks AB.

First time I ever made granola. It was easy and result was outstanding. I no longer purchase granola at the store because the results from this recipe were far superior.

This is INCREDIBLE granola! The perfect recipe I have been looking for. My mom just ate it warm out of the oven with milk and said "This the the best granola ever! A keeper!" :

Loved this recipe! I substituted pecans and blueberries, and added a dash of vanilla extract. I won't be buying ready-made granola ever again!

i've made this recipe three times now and have been really pleased. i followed a previous reviewers suggestion and increased the recipe by 1/3 to make the measurements easier. i'd read previous reviews though about it being clumpless and wanting more of an out-of-hand granola, i've tried a few additions to get it to clump more. first, i tried whipped egg whites. no clumps. next, i added 1 cup of hot water. i got some clumps, but it took forever to cook. today, i decided to try a more mechanical approach and that seems to be the most effective so far. i crowded it a bit more in the sheet pan and then used wax paper to smash it down. i tried to limit the stirring and mashed it back down after each stirring. the result was much more clumpy. also, i added 1/2 cup of flax seed meal and omitted the fruit. definitely a household favorite already.

Absolutely the best granola ever! I will NEVER buy granola from the store again. Everyone that has tried this loved it. I shared this recipe with my friends and they can't stop making it. Thanks Alton.

I'm usually not a fan of maple flavoring in anything but syrup, but this was great and the maple flavor was very subtle. An excellent granola.

Excellent granola. Being a diabetic, I used Sugar Twin brown sugar and sugar free maple syrup and it tasted just as good as the batch I fixed using regular ingredients. I like crunchy so I used dry roasted unsalted peanuts, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, chopped walnuts, and chopped almonds. Also used cranraisins and regular raisins. This also gets a four paws up from my mini and giant Schnauzers
